Sydney Theatre Reviews
Caravan by Donald Macdonald at Henry Lawson Theatre starts with a bang and ends on one. The audience roared with laughter throughout this 2-hour production, directed by Jason Darlington. It’s a comedy about road trips, friendships and domestic situations, harking back to the days of early theatre when the audience could laugh at their own marital problems.
Stage Whispers
I read this play several years ago and didn’t find it particularly funny. Henry Lawson Theatre gave it a red hot go at convincing me otherwise. Jason Darlington, making his directorial debut, showed tremendous promise in his first outing, bringing together a cast of HLT regulars, much to the delight of the full house, very supportive and highly amused audience.

Have you ever watched that American TV show about friends living in apartments across the hall from each other in New York City? There are 6 main characters and the laughs would be side splitting and continuous as they navigate through their friendship and their lives. But think about this. Instead of America, it would be set in Australia and instead of an apartment, it would be set in a caravan.
Sydney Arts Guide
An Aussie larrikin comedy of caravan capers – that most of the audience could easily identify with. So much so that it encouraged reminiscences with lots of laughs from caravaners in the audience, during interval.
