The HLT PALS (performing arts lessons) is a program designed to ensure the HLT is giving our younger members an ongoing opportunity to get involved and strengthen their performance skills. The main goals of the program are to:

  • Create an encouraging and safe environment for young people to grow in confidence and self esteem, as well as develop not just performance skills, but skills like teamwork, public speaking, and social skills.

  • Teach performance skills and theatre through not only games, but by working towards a yearly performance so students get the full experience of being in a production

  • Encourage students to have creative input into their performances, explore storytelling, and grow creatively

The program is run by one of our lifetime members, Nicole, who you will see acting, directing, operating and designing tech, and working backstage around the theatre, and is dedicated to sharing her skills and knowledge with the next generation of the theatre. She has studied creative industries majoring in drama, and is currently studying her degree in Early Childhood Education.

The PALS program for 2025 will start in term two, so more details will be coming soon, but in the meantime, please fill out an EXPRESSION OF INTEREST form, as this will help Nicole work out the details of this year’s program.
